Leslie Rasmussen

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA with a bachelors in communications. After graduating I went on to write television sitcoms . When I left the television business to raise my children, I began writing essays for Huffington Post and Maria Shriver and other online sources. On April 6th, my debut novel, "After Happily Ever After," will be out. After Happily Ever After is the story of a middle aged woman trying to rediscover herself one blunder at a time while she's dealing with a husband who's distracted because he has a secret, her only daughter will soon be leaving for college, and her father is having major medical issues. The novel is both humorous and heartbreaking and deals with family, marriage, the empty nest, aging parents and what happens when they all come crashing down at the same time. I still live in Los Angeles and I'm a passionate dog person. I have volunteered at the animal shelter near me, and one of my dogs is a therapy dog and we visit the elderly and high school and colleges kids who are stressed out.
