Dolley Carlson

Dolley Carlson is a third-generation Irish American with South Boston “Southie” roots. She is the daughter of one of Boston’s finest (Boston Police Department), and was passionate about weaving the people, locale and lore of the city into her first novel, Amazon bestseller, The Red Coat – A Novel of Boston.

She is also the author of a non-fiction series, Gifts From The Heart (Cook Communications). Her primary career for 25 years was as an inspirational and motivational speaker both nationally and internationally. However, her debut novel was forever calling.

She studied at University of California, Irvine, attended multiple writing workshops and qualified for a two-year, master writer’s workshop with award winning novelist, Mary Rakow, PhD, The Memory Room (Counterpoint Press.)

With worldwide sales, The Red Coat – A Novel Boston is available in Hardcover, Paperback Kindle and Audible. Presently, it is being translated into Braille.

Dolley and her husband live in California, have two grown daughters and five grandchildren. She loves traveling, especially “home” to Boston, Ireland and Sweden, theater, concerts, reading, dancing and power walking.
