Richard Farrell is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the MFA in Writing Program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. His work, including fiction, memoir, essays, interviews and book reviews, has appeared or is forthcoming in The Forge, Potomac Review, Hunger Mountain, New Plains Review, upstreet, Descant, Contrary, Newfound, Numéro Cinq, and elsewhere. His debut novel, The Falling Woman, will be published by Algonquin Books in May, 2020. He teaches creative writing at Grossmont College in San Diego, at San Diego Writers, Ink., and at River Pretty Writers Retreat. His writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. The Falling Woman was selected by the American Bookseller’s Association as an Indie’s Introduce pick, one of the top-10 debut novels of winter/spring 2020. Currently, he is working on his next novel and a short story collection.
