Bio

Leslie Lehr is the prize-winning author of A Boob’s Life: How America’s Obsession Shaped Me… and You, the pop-culture memoir called a “must-read” by Good Morning America, listed in “Best New Books” by People Magazine and Glamour, and optioned by HBOMax Comedy with Salma Hayek. Leslie’s New York Times Modern Love essay was narrated by Katie Couric on NPR; others are featured in anthologies such as Mommy Wars, The Honeymoon’s Over, at Yourtango and Huffington Post. Her debut novel, 66 Laps, won the Pirates Alley Faulkner Prize and was followed by Wife Goes On and What a Mother Knows, a Target Recommended Read. Her nonfiction includes Welcome to Club Mom, The Happy Helpful Grandma Guide, excerpted on FisherPrice.com, and Nesting, featured on Oprah. A produced screenwriter, Leslie won a student Emmy while USC School of Cinematic Arts and has an MFA from Antioch University. She has taught novel-writing at the Writers Program at UCLA, serves as a judge for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Rising Star competition, and is the Novel Consultant for Truby Writers Studio. A popular speaker at writing conferences around the country, A Boob’s Life has expanded her focus to include body image, breast cancer, women’s rights, breastfeeding, censorship, and both the danger and delights of being a woman today. Leslie is a member of Women in Film, PEN, The Authors Guild, and The Women’s Leadership Council of L.A. Leslie has two daughters, two cats, and lives with her husband in Southern California.
