Florence Reiss Kraut is a native New Yorker, raised and educated in New York City.  She holds a BA in English and a MSW in Social Work, and she worked for thirty years as a clinician, a family therapist and finally CEO of a family servicer agency before retiring to write and travel widely. Her historical debut novel, “How to Make a Life,”  is a family saga that follows Ida and her daughter Bessie, and the generations after as they flee to America. Once there, family secrets, betrayals and mistakes made in the name of love undermine the lives of their children and grandchildren, who must take comfort in the bonds of family–and find the courage to forgive. Kraut is working on her next book which will be published in 2023.
