Bio | I am the author of a bestselling LA Times novel and more recently the memoir When We Were Ghouls, A Memoir of Ghost Stories. I facilitate a 200-page manuscript workshop with David Ulin in San Diego called Savory Salons, “Savory” because I serve pie! Since 2004, I have taught novel writing classes at UCSD Extension. My essays have been published in The Gettysburg Review, The Normal School, Country Living, The Writers’ Chronicle and other national magazines. My essay “Easy as Pie, That’s a Lie” is anthologized in The Shell Game, Writers Play with Borrowed Forms edited by Kim Adrian (April 2018). Most of the time I live in San Diego, California with my husband and the cutest dog on earth named Hazel. Summers I live in Saratoga Springs, New York where Hazel loves to chase woodchucks and chipmunks. Wherever I am I love to bake pies, share them other folks and sometimes I’ll even bring with me when I’m invited to come to a book club or event. You just have to ask! |
