A Gathering of Women Book Club is described by manager Toy as follows, “We are a 25 year old book club of African-American women with varied of back rounds and ages. We have conducted their meetings by Zoom since the COVID restrictions which has worked out beautifully. We are now able to have out of town members. We have 13 members who meet each month except December. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, we are currently reading Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu and our next book is Summer on the Bluff by Sunny Hostin. We read all genres but most have been by female, African American authors. We try to keep ourselves open to different ideas.”

This lovely group recently enjoyed a virtual visit with award-winning author Preslaysa Williams. Here’s what they had to say about it: “Thank you, Preslaysa, for the fantastic discussion you gave our book club. Having you give your talk about “A Low Country Bride” made such a difference in our perception of your novel. You were so engaging that we were ready to adopt you. You now have fifteen new fans who can’t wait for your next book.Thank you for your help (NovelNetwork) in facilitating Preslaysa’s visit and we look forward to working with you and other NovelNetwork authors.”

The feeling is mutual, Toy. We look forward to working with your group again to facilitate future author visits!

If your book club is still on the fence about scheduling an author visit to join your discussion, consider this group’s experience!
